Between our multiple Halloween parties and my random crafty itch, we had a ton of decorated pumpkins this year!! Meanwhile, Alexander ate apples. Lots of apples! (Check out the detail on Andrew's pumpkin... I'm thinking SURGEON!)

Wannabe Family Photo
We attempted to take family pictures at Ponca State Park the weekend of my birthday. Everything seemed perfect; clean clothes that matched, beautiful weather and scenery, and most important, a willing husband!
Smile, click. Smile, click. Perfect, lets go home. Get home, wait... all the pictures are, what?! blurry?!
Hmmm. Hubby had the camera set to the lowest quality setting... HilARious.
Conclusion: no family picture this year.

Special birthday visitors!
My parents conveniently scheduled their vacation so they were able to spend two weekends with us in Vermillion! Very special to be with family for my birthday! They experienced Ddays for the first time and then I convinced them to head to Sioux City to try HuHot. Poor Alexander was very sick with a horrible fever but kept his spirits up for the weekend, what a trooper. Mom and I spent one too many hours in Vermillion's own Maurice's (thanks Mom!) and Elizabeth got to shop with her grandma at WalMart (something she probably dreams about!). Thanks Mom and Dad!
Quarter of a century?
For my birthday, Andrew threw a birthday party with some of our med school friends. Actually one of our friends has the same birthday as me so we shared the evening. Andrew came up with hilarious games! Russian roulette with eggs, partner egg drop, and tug of war on a toddler's stool! Finished up the evening with an intense game of murder and cake.

Pumpkin Patch
Our MOPS group scheduled a day at a local pumpkin patch. Unfortunately, I was multi-tasking (yes... tsk tsk) and late (yes... common problem of mine) and I slammed my finger in the car door breaking the tip of my finger. Couple paper towels to catch the blood and we were off to have FUN.
(Yes, they were holding hands when I looked back! Too cute.)
First we played in the hay maze...
Then we rode behind a tractor to pick apples...
And finally, THE PUMPKIN PATCH!
Found one mom. But, I have to pee...
(In my defense, outdoor peeing is difficult for me.
Trying to help a 3-year old is nearly impossible!)
Now back for pictures...
Why should I hold this mom?
Do what mom? Why?
(This is my favorite Alexander look. Translated it means, "Ooops, my bad. HeHe!")
... and finally we decided to SCREW the Christmas picture!

Welcome October
The kids and I are loving the beautiful fall weather. These pictures weren't the greatest so I decided to mess around with a few imaging effects!
